Business Challenges Drive Demand

Profit Loss Loss of profit due to spoiled samples and chemicals due to failed refrigeration or loss of power
Storage Regulations Increasing regulation around control and storage of lab product
Manual Errors Temperature monitoring is often highly manual, often too infrequent and subject to human error
Monitoring & Alerts No means of being alerted when a refrigeration unit is faulty or has lost power, especially outside of normal working hours
Solution Outcomes

benefitsRegulatory requirements for proper refrigeration of laboratory reagents and other materials confirmed in real time

benefitsImmediate notification of loss of power to a refrigeration unit that puts chilled lab content at risk

benefitsPredictive analytics detect failing units prior to incidents, reducing downtime and spoiled goods

Medical Lab Refrigeration Monitoring

Medical Labs require the use of refrigeration to keep specimens, vaccines, and other sensitive materials at a certain temperature. Temperature changes or fluctuations can destroy some of these items. Many states have laws in place requiring temperature monitoring in medical facilities so that there is a data log for reference. Remote refrigeration monitoring provides real-time visibility of the temperature and performance of refrigeration systems. This monitoring reduces the risk of damage to important biological, medical items by tracking temperature changes, while Predictive Analytics detect failing refrigeration units prior to incidents. Logging temperature data can also detect peak time activity of users opening doors too often and too long, which can also put the product at risk.

Solution Rating

1 STAR = LOW | 5 STARS = HIGH

Technical Expertise
As a technical skills prerequisite, this rating is based on the level of integration required for implementation as well as the level of customization and configuration specific to the IoT and Analytics technology deployment.

Industry Acumen
For industry acumen, our solution consultants identify solutions that are more suited for particular segments and/or niche markets versus solutions that are more versatile and can be applied across multiple industries. This rating helps solution providers identify their options for expanding their market share, by honing their industry expertise or creating parallel sales across multiple industries.

Market Size
Market size indicates the relevant number of end-client targets for the particular solution. A niche market has a low rating but this only reflects the number of targets, not the potential revenue stream of market. A high rating indicates a larger market pool.

Cloud Consumption
Some solutions and use cases trigger more cloud consumption than other solutions. The level of data loads, storage needs, and network configurations affect cloud consumption.

Disruption Level
This rating is to provide a sense of expectation for solution deployment. Some solutions may require training and process adoption where other solutions effective “out of the box” on day one.
